GOOD
NEWS FOR FOXBORO SCADA IN ITALY
as they recently passed the Final Acceptance Test (FAT) for the
UGDC Port Said - Damietta Gas pipeline project (Egypt).
This is
excellent news, particularly from a Telecommunications viewpoint
as it is the first project using Optical SDH technology
(Synchronous Digital Hierarchy) totally designed, developed and
delivered by Foxboro SCADA Rome without using TLC
(telecommunications) system integrators.
This experience has
demonstrated that this approach significantly improves the
overall project margins and the project schedule as well as
increasing customer satisfaction.

SINOPEC
Selects Invensys To Supply Advanced SCADA System For New
Dispatching Center In Xuzhou
Invensys
SCADA system will remotely monitor, supervise, and
control three strategic pipelines in eastern China.
FOXBORO,
MASSACHUSETTS – SINOPEC Corporation, China’s largest
producer of petrochemicals and petroleum products, has awarded
Shanghai-Foxboro Company Limited, an Invensys joint venture, an
approximately US$500,000 turn-key contract to supply a Foxboro
SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system for its
new Dispatching Center, to be located in the Xuzhou area in
eastern China. The system will monitor, supervise, and control
three major, multi-product pipelines of strategic importance to
SINOPEC’s core business operations.
The
Foxboro SCADA system will interface with three existing
third-party SCADA sub-systems to enable SINOPEC to gather,
dispatch, transfer, and deliver its raw and finished products
throughout this large and populous region in a safe, reliable,
and cost-effective manner. Ultimately, the Foxboro SCADA system
will be expanded to supervise all existing SINOPEC pipelines in
China.
Invensys’
advanced SCADA solution for the new Dispatch Center will include
an appropriate mix of Unix and Windows technologies, plus
well-proven Foxboro SCADA applications to help increase safety,
improve pipeline operations, and enhance maintenance. An
embedded Web server will provide authorized SINOPEC individuals
with secure, real-time access to real-time and historical
pipeline information from anywhere in the world via either
SINOPEC’s corporate intranet or the Internet.

Foxboro
SCADA provide integrated solution for turbo-compressors.
Foxboro
SCADA has been awarded a $4m contract for the supply on a turnkey basis of an
integrated solution for automation control, ESD and plant monitoring of 11
existing GE turbo-compressors.
The
installation at the Chizha compressor station is a key plant for the national
gas transportation pipelines network in Kazakhstan. Owned and operated
by Inter-gas Central Asia, the Chizha station is a two-pipe gas pipeline in
the north of the country used to transport gas from the east to the west of
Russia.
Scope
of work includes an integrated Triconex TMR control systems for gas turbine
control, ESD systems (including vibration monitoring), compressor anti-surge
control, BOP control, integration engineering and marshalling cabinets and
field electronic transmitters.
Key
to this win was Foxboro SCADA's ability to demonstrate its field-proven
experience and extensive system integration capability in similar projects
worldwide. Teamwork between EMEA TCX - Turbine and TCX safety groups,
together with the support of the UK turbo machinery engineering department and
the Russian Triconex organization also played its part.
